In the conversation, Powel Sasko from CD Projekt also focused on the successor to “Cyberpunk 2077”, which apparently retains a large proportion of the experienced management team.

Experienced managers remain on the Cyberpunk team

After “Cyberpunk 2077” was completed and received the planned “Phantom Liberty” expansion, part of the team was shifted to the development of “The Witcher 4,” which CD Projekt is “working intensively” on, according to Sasko.

Fans don’t have to fear that “Cyberpunk” will be neglected. “Most of the managers and most of the directors who were involved in Cyberpunk and Phantom Liberty” would be involved in the new “Cyberpunk” – internally referred to as “Project Orion”. Some of the senior developers are on board, which Sasko justifies with the “needs of a project at a certain time.”

“Project Orion” is still in a “fairly early stage” of development and is therefore being driven forward by developers who are “well trained” through their work on “Cyberpunk 2077” and the expansion.

It is also important to keep as much of the team as possible, Sasko explained, because they want to ensure that “all of the DNA is preserved and continues to be in the game.”

More than 400 employees in the Witcher team

There is no small or inexperienced team behind “The Witcher 4”. Last month, CD Projekt announced that more than 400 developers were working on “Project Polaris” – the code name of the new “Witcher” game. This means that more than half of the studio is working on the new part.

It is unclear when exactly “The Witcher 4” will come onto the market. However, be it the ideal entry point with more intense stories.
