Since 2019, Intel has a laboratory and warehouse in a secret location in Costa Rica that the company filled with its old hardware, reports The Wall Street Journal.
Intel will start the warehouse as a security yard to fix deficiencies that are discovered in old hardware and to security test new software and hardware.
The lab must be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Usually there are about 25 engineers available who can put together a special machine based on the hardware that is available. Each month, the lab will receive about 1,000 requests to build hardware for security testing.
At present, there will be 3,000 different items in stock and the plan is to double the amount of hardware next year.
