Intel does not want to declare when its graphics cards will appear in stores yet, but it reminds of itself from time to time. Yesterday, a short film appeared on the web showing the possibilities of the Arc A750 model and it must be admitted that it looks pretty good compared to the GeForce RTX 3060. The only question is how much will it cost?
Intel Arc A750 vs NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060
It is an open secret that physically Intel graphics cards are practically ready for sale, but the problem is with the software. The drivers are said to leave a lot to be desired, especially in the titles that use DirectX 11. Probably that’s why the latest video on the Intel channel shows the performance of the Arc A750 only in DirectX 12 and API Vulkan. Unfortunately, the work on the software is characterized by the fact that it is difficult to judge how long it will take. Unfortunately, this works in every industry, we all remember how Volkswagen delayed its deliveries by several months due to problems with the infotainment system in the ID.3 model. Intel cannot afford a poor premiere, so it has not yet declared the exact date when new cards will appear in stores.
However, this does not prevent the company from building an atmosphere and fueling expectations. The following video certainly falls into this category, because the results in 48 popular video games are presented here against the GeForce RTX 3060 background. This time Intel did not choose only a few titles that work best on the new tab, so the list includes Cyberpunk 2077, among others, Microsoft Flight Simulator, Dying Light 2, Red Dead Redemption 2, Gears 5, Metro Exodus, Deathloop, Control, Dirt 5, Watch Dogs: Legion, Call of Duty Warzone, Hitman 3, Sniper Elite 5, F1 2021 and finally Resident Evil Village . In all of these games, the Arc A750 was on average 4-5% more efficient than the mid-range NVIDIA card.
The exact results can be found in the graphs below, green is of course the color of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060, and the blue-purple color is the Intel Arc A750. The differences in individual titles are actually only cosmetic and it looks very promising, but as always, the key will be the price. The GeForce RTX 3060 is officially priced at $ 329 and has recently been very close to this suggested price. Intel Arc A750 is expected to be placed in the $ 300-400 range, which means it may be a bit more expensive. I am afraid that buying an Intel card at a higher price with potentially weaker drivers is very unlikely. The company will have to fight for customers a bit harder if it actually wants to sell a noticeable number of graphics cards this year.
A separate issue is the fact that the demand for graphics cards has been falling sharply in recent weeks, mainly due to the macroeconomic environment. Given the potential increases in energy carriers in the coming months, the purchase of a graphics card may not be high on the list of essentials. In addition, there is also the potential premiere of new NVIDIA cards, which will make the models from the RTX 30×0 family much cheaper, which will only sharpen the competition. Intel is a good year late with its cards. If they hit the market 12 months ago, there would certainly be many more people willing. Currently, the offer of the giant is rather just a curiosity …
