In Manor Lords, games start with five families which constitute your initial population. The latter then live in your settler camp, the very first building erected on your territory. 'Nevertheless, the settler camp has no real use other than to temporarily shelter your families and will quickly be replaced by the censives, the dwellings which will house your first settlers, but also welcome new ones as you progress.. In short, to be able to increase your population and colonize your territory, you will necessarily have to build censives. Beyond their main function, censives are initially your main source of regional wealth and can produce valuable resources if you build them on a large enough plot of land. But first of all, we will have to improve them.

Progression in Manor Lords necessarily involves improving censives which allow you to gain colony levels. Be careful, however, after improving your censuses, new families will come to settle in your colony. The need for resources will therefore increase and we must then find the right balance between production of resources, number of inhabitants and satisfaction of their needs.. Because the improvement of censuses depends precisely on satisfying the needs of your settlers.

By selecting a level 1 censive, you will have access to all the requirements to be satisfied to be able to improve it to level 2, then to level 3 once you have unlocked the first improvement. To satisfy each of these needs, it is necessary to ensure that the census is linked to the different resources required.. So build a market near your censives and connect all of your buildings to an optimal road network.

In addition to bringing in money – one unit of regional wealth per family per month at level 2 and two units of regional wealth per family per month at level 3 – the censives can accommodate rear extensions on their land. court. When you build a level 1 censive, you can expand the land that this censive will occupy, which will allow you to have access to these extensions. At level 1, there are three expansions, or four if you have unlocked the “fruit tree cultivation” upgrade.

Level 2 is much more interesting because it allows you to unlock all of the backyard expansions. Be careful though, except for passive extensions, the construction of a backyard extension will convert the family assigned to your census into a craftsman. Unless you pause your expansion, you will no longer be able to use it to work in other buildings in your colony.
