Hunter x Hunter Nen x Impact adds Genthru to its cast but not crossplay

Hunter x Hunter Genthru x Impact

Legendary player Justin Wong (and famous victim of memorable moment of EVO) was in Japan for this weekend's competition and he took the opportunity to meet the members of the teameighty to discuss with them Hunter x Hunter Nen x Impact and above all to play a few matches against them, on a version which was not exactly that of the demo present at the event.

Indeed, if it does indeed contain the first six characters announced, someone has slipped into the middle and it is neither Uvogine nor Machi who have just been announced but rather Genthru. If you don't know him or don't remember him, he is present in the Greed Island arc. And once again, it's not exactly a character that seems a priority for the casting.

The fighter selection screen displays (for the moment) 18 slots, so we assume that this will be the number of characters present in the final version which can always evolve but we doubt it a little given that the Budget seems quite limited for this project. It is therefore a shame since it is a game that is played in 3 against 3 but also because with nine members already known, we already know half of the cast with obvious names still missing.

Rock Paper Scissors

While we're on the bad news, let's talk about the online game. Indeed, if Hunter x Hunter Nen x Impact will be available on PlayStation 5, Switch and PC, we are already being warned thatthere will be no crossplay between platforms. It's not very surprising for the Switch version which we hardly saw on par with the others but it's a bit of a shame not to have it between PS5 and Steam.

But let's end on the best note. Given the publisher's history Bushiroad Games which mainly makes mobile games that do not come out of Japan, we were quite cautious about the idea of talking about a global release for the title. Indeed, until now, communication was only in Japanese. But an English version of official site is finally available and it even promises French in available languages.

Of course, the publisher is still not talking about a release here but we suspect that if there is an effort to localize the game in our language, it is to release it here. If only at least in a dematerialized version on the different stores and if not, at worst, there will be a way to import it.

But with all this, we still don't know when Hunter x Hunter Nen x Impact which still does not have a single release window on PlayStation 5, Switch and PC.
