Hungry Hunters – Walkthrough Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

Finding fuel for Antea

From the start of the quest when you arrive in the valley, take the southern path then eliminate the specters that come your way. A little further east, locate the trunk then climb on it. On the other side, enter the shelter indicated by Antea to meet a certain Jacob, and to trigger a new Haunting Case “The Flesh Is Weak”. This case being obligatory to explain to you the mechanics linked to these breaks in the story, we will describe here the procedure to follow to complete this case.

The flesh is weak

To begin, inspect the bedding filled with maggots on the ground as well as the damaged dish placed on the table a little further back. Then head towards the exit, collect the rope placed on a barrel and leave the cave. To investigate what is happening here, head north/northeast to discover an area much further away covered in very thick fog. To go down there, jump over the hole then hang the rope on the indicated ledge.

Once down, take control of Antea who can see through the fog and advance into the mysterious area. Take the path on the left but before going towards the lying tree that you can find a little further to the right, go into the water and find near a rock the Collectible “Voices in the Mist”. Pass the trunk and a little further on is a sort of destroyed footbridge. Pass it to find the source of the fog which you must interact with to dissipate it entirely. You can now regain control of Red if you wish to face the specters that appear, but afterward, go and examine the spectral trace very close before making a listening chant ritual in order to learn more about the ghost that haunts these places and Jacob.

Then, turn back and head south to find a wall to cling to and go down. Continuing still south, you will find the remains of Ben, Jacob's friend. After having properly inspected him and discovered the real reasons for his death, turn around to find the way to Jacob's shelter, confronting specters and Alpha Glutton. Arriving at the shelter, search the bowl on the table and complete the Forced Manifestation ritual to make Ben appear in the shelter. After the interesting cutscene, it is high time to close this case by giving your verdict.

Be careful, this irremediable step is crucial and is at the heart of the gameplay of Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden. Indeed, if you decide to blame Jacob, you reinforce your wish to bring Antea back, otherwise you will allow him to access Ascension more easily. This will also depend on your oath made to Antea a little later, so think carefully about how you want your journey to turn out. These crucial choices will also determine your ability, or not, to access secondary activities following.

So you can either:

  • Blame Jacob for what he did to his friend and thus take his soul and strengthen Antea's wish for Resurrection
  • Ascend Ben to allow him to leave in peace after what he suffered (reinforces the Ascension of Antea)
  • Ban Ben for torturing his friend for weeks (reinforces Antea's Ascension)

After your crucial choice, the Haunting Case ends and the main quest continues.

Go and rest

To extend the main quest, return to Jacob and Ben's shelter and light a fire to rest there, improve your character but also your weapons. During this sequence, you will have to take an oath in relation to the destiny desired for Antea:

  • Blame as many living beings as possible in an attempt to resurrect your loved one
  • Accept with regret his disappearance and thus allow his Ascension with dignity, sparing as many humans as possible and especially dealing with ghosts.

At the end of this conversation and this choice, the quest ends and gives way to the next one, Those of the woods. Follow our other guides and useful information by going directly to our Complete Guide to Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden.
