Quick summary of the content available to quickly get your hands on Dragonflight Season 4

Here we briefly list all the useful sources of stuff for your main character or your alts who have recently reached level 70. The information on each source of equipment will then be detailed in the chapters below (use the table of contents to navigate more easily ).

  • The weekly quest in the capital
  • Weekly quests in Therazaland (Valdrakken)
  • Weekly faction-related events
  • Crafts related to
    sparks
  • Heroic Dungeons
  • The LFR and the item seller
  • The M+, the Raid and the Weekly Chest

Note that all the content of Season 4 gives access to resources allowing you to improve the ilvl of your equipment, the shields. We will explain this point to you in detail in the section related to M+ and Raid.

The weekly quest in the capital

Like every week, Kazra will offer you a quest that can be carried out on all your characters, linked to WoW content. Thus, on a fixed rotation, you will need to complete 5 Timewalking dungeons or 4 mythical dungeons to obtain a chest containing loot from one of the three Raids in the expansion.

For the week of the release of Season 4, Wednesday April 24, you will be able to obtain a chest containing a coin 493 to 515 ilvl by completing 5 Timewalking dungeons.

Weekly quests in Therazaland

Starting Wednesday, April 24 and throughout the season, you will have the opportunity to help a faction depending on the content of the expansion. So, for each season preceding S4, you will have a weekly event to complete in the region linked to the season. The quest can be found in the capital, around the fountain, near Therazaland.

For example, for Season 1, you will need to participate in a Hunt or the Rohart Feast. This is completed very quickly and allows you, again, to obtain a chest containing a part 493 to 515 ilvl from one of the three Raids in normal version.

Additionally, this quest will give you access to a spark for your craft 500+ ilvl.

Weekly faction-related events like the Dreamkeepers

Like the section above, it will also be possible to help the different factions of the game via weekly events. You can find:

  • The Rohart Feast for an item 480-502 ilvl
  • Help the Dragonbane dungeon for an item 480-502 ilvl
  • Complete the Dreamkeepers event for two items 480-502 ilvl

Note that unlike the section above, you do not have a choice to make. You can therefore complete them as you wish, each week, on your different characters.

Remember to make your crafts, the best way to fight against RNG

If at the moment we do not know if it will be necessary to have completed the main stages of the various campaigns of the expansion to unlock sparks by completing Season 4 content, we know a few methods to obtain sparks.

Thus, weekly quests from Therazaland will give you access to a spark for your craft 500+ ilvl, every week.

The idea here is to craft, from the first days of play in Season 4, 502 ilvl objects using only the
spark. These coins will therefore compensate for your lack of luck with your loots in LFR and with the weekly content. No need to necessarily think about your BIS although it is always more interesting to craft the right parts.

Better, by using ECUs, notably dragon shield obtained on the most difficult content (Mythic Dungeons level 6+, raid in Mythic Mode), you will be able to upgrade them up to item level 525.

Heroic Dungeons, more difficult but with better rewards

One of the new features of Season 4 is the change in instance difficulty. Thus, the HM dungeons will be at the difficulty level of the old Mythical Dungeons 0 while a key 10 from S4 will be equivalent to a +20 from Season 3.

To compensate for this increase in difficulty, the rewards have been increased. You will get items ranging from 467 to 483 ilvl via HM dungeons.

The LFR, the Raid Finder and the item vendor

Whether your character is new to level 70 in WoW or is a veteran of Season 3 of Dragonflight, the LFR is an almost essential step to quickly obtain stuff in Season 4.

In fact, it gives access to:

  • Equipment starting at 480 ilvl and upgradeable up to 502 ilvl
  • Season 4 set pieces
  • A good source ofshield
  • Tokens to buy coins of your choice from the seller

The entire Raid is now accessible in LFR, which gives you a good chance of obtaining loot and in particular, pieces from your set. It must be completed every week, on all your characters who cannot complete the Raid on higher difficulty.

The locations of Raid item vendors for Season 4.

As for the item seller, this exists in several difficulties (LFR, NM, HM and Mythical) and is located in Valdrakken, east of the city (see our map above). By killing the last Boss of the Improved Raids, you will obtain (with a limit per week), a Token allowing you later to buy the best parts of each Raid in the expansion.

Once the weekly content has been completed (LFR, weekly quests) your best option will be to start the instanced PvE content. We are talking here about Mythical Dungeons and Raids.

Thus, the different difficulties of the Raid will allow you to obtain ilvl much higher than the LFR. But be careful, each character can only loot equipment once per week from each Boss of the same difficulty. Understand, if you kill the first Boss of the raid in NM, it will be useless for you to kill him again in NM with this same character. On the other hand, he could potentially give you an item in HM or Mythic.

Season 4 Raid Rewards Ilvl

  • LFR: ilvl 480 to 502
  • NM: ilvl 493 to 515
  • HM: ilvl 506 to 522
  • MM: ilvl 519 to 528

In Mythical Dungeons, the key level will influence the reward item level, from 480 in +0 to 522 in +10. You can find the table in our article on Affixes of the week in M+.

Please note, however, that all of these loots can be improved depending on their quality. This simply depends on the difficulty of the content you have created. As mentioned previously, you will need coins to improve them. Although the total amount of coins is limited per Season, it is now large enough that you can easily upgrade all your pieces without thinking too much.

In addition, the ideal is to be able to focus on 6+ keys very quickly, because they give access to dragon shieldallowing you to improve Hero and Mythical quality parts as well as your crafts to the highest possible level.

Improvements to items based on their quality.

Adventurer: 467 to 483 ilvl

  • Obtained in Heroic Dungeon

Veteran: 480 to 502 ilvl

  • Obtained in Mythical Dungeon 0 and LFR Raid

Champion: 493 to 515 ilvl

  • Obtained in the Hebdo chest, at the end of the mythical key +2 to +6 and in NM Raid

Hero: 506 to 522 ilvl

  • Obtained in Vault +2 to +7, at the end of mythic key +7 to +10 and in Raid HM

Mythic: 519 to 528 ilvl

  • Obtained in the Weekly Chest as a +8 to +10 key reward and in MM Raid

The ideal is therefore to be able to complete Mythical Dungeons 8+, which are much more accessible than the Raid Bosses in Mythical mode, in order to obtain parts which can be improved up to level 528, in your Weekly Chest. These keys will be relatively accessible with a gear level above 490 ilvl, at the start of Season 4.
