What is influence used for? Manor Lords ?

Influence allows you to purchase new lands. But not those of your departure region, those of others. It is also used to declare war on another city, which can allow you to conquer it later. Regardless of your use of this resource, you will need 250 treasury to establish a new camp in another region. This may seem like a lot, but you will be able to generate a lot more resources in the long run. Plus, it will save you the cost of some imports.

There are several ways to gain influence in
Manor Lords, some uniquely and others more ad hoc. Regardless, all of them can be exploited to obtain this essential resource for expanding your territory. Please note that it will not be possible to obtain any from the start. You must already be well established, and therefore have survived the first year.

Develop your village

The simplest and most natural way to gain influence is simply to take care of your village. For each mansion built, you get 200 influence points. As soon as you feel that the requested resources (wood and stone) will no longer be a problem to generate, you can build new mansions in town. Thanks to this, you will get influence quite easily, even if the amount is quite low.

However, the church should not be neglected in this endeavor. When you build your first church, you get 250 influence points. In addition, with each improvement of the latter, you get 250 additional. So make sure to always prioritize its improvement for this. It is also useful for the approval level of your villagers and the development of their habitats.

Get rid of the bandits

By far the best way to generate influence points, bandits can be found anywhere. Each of them grants 20 influence points when downed. A camp of 15 bandits will therefore yield a total of 300. This forces you to dedicate quite a few men to the army and the creation of weapons, but it may be worth it. As long as there is no ruler in a land, bandits will continue to flock.

This is also a technique that can be useful when you are in a bad position in the game. If your approval level is too low, some villagers will become bandits. It is possible to deliberately reach this stage to force the appearance of bandits and gain a lot of influence in
Manor Lords. However, it is a double-edged technique since you can be overwhelmed by events.

Apply tithing

A somewhat special tax, the tithe converts part of your surplus food into influence at the end of each month. The payoff isn't huge, and if handled poorly can easily rout your game. Unless you have an abundant supply of food, it is better not to use this tax. However, it remains possible to combine it with the previous technique to hasten the loss of your approval.
