Hades 2: Discover and release every weapon

Weapons are Princess Melinoe's primary attack tools in Hades 2. Each weapon differs significantly from the others in terms of gameplay and the unlock conditions are also different. At this point we will show you all the locations of the five weapons in the Dungeon Crawler.

In the early access version of Hades 2 you can currently unlock five weapons. You can get all of these in the training room in the circular square where all the weapons are on display. They are each unlocked with different materials. You can find all the information about this in the following list.

Find materials for weapons

Now you may be wondering how you can get the necessary materials for the weapons. First you need the crescent moon pickaxe to mine the resources. You get these early in the game for one unit of ash. With the pickaxe in your luggage, you can mine the materials in the following locations:

Embers: You get one unit of embers each time you defeat the boss of the Erebos region, “Grandmaster Hekate”. Since you need embers 3 times for the shadow flames, you have to defeat the boss 3 times.
Silver: You can mine it from veins in Erebos. You will receive 3 silver ore per vein.
Obsidian: You can mine “Fields of Sorrow” from black mineral deposits in the third region.
Bronze: Obtained from brown scrap metal piles in the overworld.

Best weapon in Hades 2

There is no classic best weapon in Hades 2, instead it depends on your preferred play style to find the best weapon for you. For close combat we can recommend the sister blades. The attacks cause little damage, but the speed gained is more important. Once you have unlocked the Omega variant of the basic attack, the weapon becomes particularly powerful as you can then teleport behind nearby enemies.

The Moonstone Ax is particularly good for clearing rooms with lots of enemies. However, the slow attacks are a disadvantage, especially in boss fights. The witch's staff is a good compromise between the two weapons mentioned above. However, we can only recommend the shadow flames and the silver skull after some training. It's best to try them out and decide for yourself whether you like them or not.
