According to documents provided by the organization to the Texas Attorney General, personal information of clients was leaked, including names, addresses, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, as well as financial data, including account and bank card numbers.

Bank of America does not say exactly how many clients were affected by this leak, but representatives of the consulting company Infosys McCamish Systems (IMS), whose systems were hacked during the attack, statedthat as a result of the incident, the data of 57,028 customers was exposed.

“On or about November 3, 2023, IMS experienced a cyber attack and an unauthorized third party gained access to IMS systems, resulting in some applications being unavailable,” IMS said in a statement. “It is unlikely that we will be able to determine with certainty exactly what personal information was accessed as a result of this incident.”

It is worth noting that the LockBit extortion group took over responsible for the IMS hack back on November 4, 2023. On their darknet site, the hackers claim that during the attack they were able to compromise and encrypt more than 2,000 of the company's systems.
