The price of GTA 6 should feel good for you.
Grand Theft Auto 6 is getting closer, but neither developer Rockstar nor publisher Take-Two have revealed how much the huge open-world game will cost. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick now explains what the price for GTA 6 will be.
Take-Two aims for a fair price for GTA 6
Zelnick did not give an exact number this time either. Instead, in a meeting with video game executives, he reveals that customers pay for the value you provide them. Take-Two’s job is then very much less than the actual value to demand.
The interaction between product and price is crucial for how customers feel when buying a game. We want consumers to think they paid a fair price for a great product.
Zelnick goes on to say that Take-Two and Rockstar want to create the “most spectacular entertainment experience in the world and of all time” with GTA 6. Financial success would then come all by itself. Apparently he’s confident that this will work, because he also jokes that a lot of people will call in sick on November 19th (source: IGN).
How much money is GTA 6 worth?
GTA 6 is expected to be a massive game in which players can spend many hundreds of hours. The mentioned added value of the game would therefore be high. Nevertheless, the words of the Take-Two CEO give hope that Rockstar is on one Price shock avoided and didn’t charge 100 euros for GTA 6.
In one respect, the new Grand Theft Auto is already crazy expensive. According to fan calculations, the open-world hit’s budget could be more than $2 billion. The costs almost certainly exceed those of other AAA hits like Cyberpunk 2077, Call of Duty or Red Dead Redemption.
Nevertheless, Rockstar and Take-Two will make a lot more money with GTA 6. A recent leak has shown that even the old GTA 5 is still raking in millions of dollars per week.
