Where to find Godfrey, First Lord of Elden?

To fight Godfrey on Elden Ring, you will have to play “a few” hours. Indeed, the latter is located near Leyndell, the royal capital. More precisely, you will have to go to the dragon level and climb on the latter to reach the branches of the tree.

Continue climbing and you will arrive near the location of the confrontation against Morgott. But before you launch yourself against the latter, take a tour of the chapel which is not far away and which we have indicated to you on the map below: this is where Godfrey is located.

The first bad news about the fight against Godfrey, first lord of Elden, is that the latter will not have any major weaknesses. On the contrary, it is resistant to fire and scarlet rot. If you have a bleed and poison based build, it's even worse.

Indeed, he is completely immune to this type of damage and this can pose a problem. Because yes, Godfrey is a threat if you are ever on a melee build. We therefore advise you to take with you a war ash giving you some ranged attacks for example.

Another tip, take a summon that is going to be quite tanky if you want to distract Godfrey's attention. The more resistant it is, the more likely you will be to finish the fight before being killed by the latter's devastating attacks.

If we've been talking about melee builds since earlier, it's because if you're a ranged player, you should have no trouble getting rid of Godfrey. Send your summon to distract him and send him everything you have in store.

Godfrey hits hard, but he is very slow, especially because he doesn't run. It is therefore quite easy to not find yourself within attack range and end the fight. Watch out for his jump though which will be the only thing to avoid absolutely to avoid a bad surprise.

If you're in melee, we've told you, a summon that can take a bit for you is a good idea. You will then absolutely have to dodge his big ax swings and his stomp and take advantage of the timing this gives you to inflict damage on him.

Don't be too greedy, because Godfrey hurts a lot. Besides war ashes for ranged damage, “Flames of the Red Lions” is also a good optionallowing you to break the posture more quickly and thus shorten the fight.

At the end of the game, you will cross paths with Godfrey again, but this time it will not be a memory! The fight begins generally in the same way as against this famous memory until you have knocked him down to 50% of his HP. There he sacrifices his lion and adopts a hand-to-hand fighting style.

He then becomes very mobile and his attacks become much more difficult to dodge. He will attack you in a loop and you will have to do a lot of dodging. When you see a window to attack, don't hesitatehe won't leave you with dozens.

As for dodging, we recommend sideways rolls, except in one particular case, when he tries to catch you. There, it is better to go towards the back to avoid him touching you anyway.. On this point, there is no miracle formula: you will have to be able to recognize the pattern of the attack.

Also watch out for his attack where he jumps before crashing to the ground. Obviously, there is no question of ending up at the point of impact. However, it is one of the rare moments in the fight where Godfrey will be exposed and without much defense against your attacks.
