God of War Ragnarök: PC port within reach

The next PC launch of a PlayStation game is apparently imminent. A well-known leaker assumes that the port of “God of War Ragnarök” will be announced soon.

The gaming world is looking forward to the future direction of the Xbox division. But a change also began at Sony a few years ago. Exclusive PlayStation games are increasingly landing on the PC – but usually only after a longer period of console exclusivity.

The next PC release of this kind could be imminent. The usually well-informed insider and leaker Billbil-kun found an indication that Kratos will soon be appearing on PC screens again.

PC announcement of God of War Ragnarök is probably imminent

The leaker posted the following tweet on Twitter/X midday: “God of War Ragnarök is one of the next PlayStation exclusive titles to be ported to PC. The announcement is imminent.”

In a post on Dealabs The leaker goes into more detail and first dispels a rumor. “The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered” will not be the next game confirmed for the PC. Rather, players can expect a corresponding announcement about Kratos' latest adventure in May.

“We expect this PC port to be announced sometime in May 2024,” writes Billbil-kun. “We still don’t know the game’s release date.”

“God of War Ragnarök” is approaching its second birthday. The title came onto the market in November 2022, so there would be the time gap that Sony has mentioned several times between the releases for consoles and PC. An exception are live service games such as “Helldivers 2”, which are planned for a parallel launch.

Rumors surrounding the PlayStation Showcase

There is supposedly a PlayStation showcase taking place in May, during which Sony would like to present further PS5 games – including the remake of “Silent Hill 2”.

It remains to be seen whether the PC port of “God of War Ragnarök” will be included. Billbil-kun thinks it’s unlikely – unless the announcement is part of another surprise for “God of War”. Further details about the PlayStation Showcase are summarized below.

How reliable are Billbil-kun's statements? Quite. After the leaker ensured a correct prediction of the PS Plus games every month for a while, leaks about various games followed. They were surprisingly reliable, including the report that “Horizon Forbidden West” appears as a PC version. The launch took place this year.

First up is “Ghost of Tsushima”. The Director's Cut will be released for PC on May 16, 2024. With the title, Sony is introducing a PSN overlay that allows PC gamers to benefit from the features of the PlayStation Network. Account linking is not necessary for single player content.
