Max Payne 3 tells the story of former New York police officer Max Payne, who moves to São Paulo to protect a wealthy family and escape his troubled past. Max struggles with past tragedies and his addiction to painkillers – and finds himself entangled in a web of chaos while protecting the Branco family.

The game is played as Mixture of advanced shooting mechanics with a dark story described. The Complete Edition includes the original game and all previously released downloadable content such as additional maps, packs and character expansions.

Max Payne 3 on Steam: Low violence version

The version of Max Payne 3 available on Steam includes reduced depictions of violence. Some features that are available in other countries have been adapted accordingly in the German version:

Players can no longer injure or kill innocent people, including in a scripted event. In some cases, additional gunshot wounds cannot be caused to people who are already dead, and in some cases the ragdoll behavior is disabled. Despite this, the game's level of violence remains largely unchanged, with undiminished amounts of gore, pools of blood, bloody footprints, and the ability to use the kill cam.
