It is a phenomenon that once again underlines the special preferences of German PC gamers.

The new building game is just a few days old Transport Fever 3 available, but it is already causing a sensation in Germany. Since its release on September 29th, the game has catapulted itself to second place in the German Steam top sellers. This means it even leaves heavyweights like EA Sports FC 27 (test) and Wardogs behind.

Transport Fever 3 is going fast in Germany – not so much in the rest of the world

However, if you look beyond national borders, a completely different picture emerges. In the worldwide Steam charts For the transport simulation, it is currently only in 17th place – a respectable, but not a top position.

This difference clearly shows how much the economic simulation genre is still valued in German-speaking countries.

This is what you do in Transport Fever 3

In Transport Fever 3 you take control of an up-and-coming transport company. Your task is to build and continually optimize a functioning logistics network on land, at sea and in the air. You have access to over 275 different vehicles that cover a period of more than a century. The principle of the game in brief: You plan routes, build infrastructure such as train stations or airports and always have to keep an eye on the costs.

The success in Germany is no coincidence. The building simulation genre has a long tradition in this country and an extremely loyal fan base. Currently, 76 percent of players rate Transport Fever 3 positively. Critics are particularly bothered by the fact that some functions and vehicles from the predecessor are missing.

If you are interested in the genre and don’t know the second part of the series yet, you might want to start with this one. Because it currently only costs 5.99 euros thanks to the Steam sale until October 8th (watch on Steam), while the third part costs 49.99 euros.
