General tips plus an overview of hearts, stamps, machines

Hyrule's fate is once again in your hands in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom for Nintendo Switch, but Link is nowhere to be found. Then Zelda has to do it: In the new offshoot of the series, the princess herself takes on the task of saving her country and sets off across Hyrule with a little creature named Tri.

In our test We have already explained what it feels like to roam through Hyrule as a princess, solving puzzles and defeating monsters. With the general tips we give you help when starting the game and also provide you with further guides on all heart parts, stamps and machines.

Some items can only be obtained after completing certain quests or by learning certain echoes, but you can find out all about this in the individual guides that we link to below.

Zelda Echoes of Wisdom – General Tips

  • Learn all the echoes you can find. This doesn't make the inventory any clearer, but you are prepared for any situation.
  • Do you have little heart and are not in any acute danger right now? Make a bed and fuck your ass. Save your smoothies for boss fights and enemy crowds.
  • You should keep an eye on the energy bar under the hearts if you want to rely on the link form. If it's empty, Tri doesn't have enough energy to summon Link and you have to get help elsewhere. Smoothies with rock salt fill them up.
  • By completing side quests you sometimes receive “accessories” with special effects that, for example, increase jumping power or allow you to find more hearts. Some are also available to buy in stores.
  • If you locate the great fairy in the middle of Lake Hylia, she will expand your “accessory” slots for a price and let you carry more effects at once.
  • Other sidequests grant you outfits, some of which have effects like faster recovery or a larger pirouette radius, while others just look fabulous.

All machines start

A little later in the game you can run into Boris the mechanic. He is passionate about tinkering and, if you give him the right inspiration, will make automatons for you. With these machines, which work like echoes, you can make some fights easier or just enjoy some musical enrichment.
