GEEKOM A6 Review: A Compact Powerhouse with Exceptional Value

1. Overview & Key Strengths

I recently got my hands on the GEEKOM A6, and I think it’s a remarkably balanced mini PC — especially when considering cost, performance, and versatility. Powered by the AMD Ryzen 7 6800H (8 cores / 16 threads) and integrated Radeon 680M graphics, this compact machine punches way above its weight.  It comes preloaded with Windows 11 Pro, and the version I used / tested has 32 GB DDR5 RAM and a 1 TB NVMe Gen 4 SSD — a configuration that delivers excellent responsiveness.  Moreover, build quality is solid: an aluminum shell, small form factor (112.4 × 112.4 × 37 mm), and weighing only about 1.1 kg make it both robust and easy to tuck away.

What’s in the Box

When I unboxed the GEEKOM A6, I was impressed with how neatly everything was arranged. The package includes everything needed to get started right away:

  • GEEKOM A6 Mini PC
  • 65W Power Adapter & Cable
  • HDMI Cable (suitable for connecting to any monitor or TV)
  • VESA Mounting Bracket + Screws (allows you to mount the PC behind a monitor for a completely clean setup)
  • User Manual & Quick Start Guide
  • Warranty Information Card

2. Performance & Versatility

Productivity & Multitasking

In my tests, the A6 handled everyday workloads — web browsing, office apps, development (IDEs), even multiple VMs — smoothly, thanks to 32 GB DDR5. Its benchmark scores were solid: for example, in PCMark 10 it scored around 6,672 points (in one independent test) — more than enough for demanding office and creative tasks.

Creative Tasks

The A6 is very capable for creative work — photo editing, video rendering, or streaming — especially with its fast SSD and good connectivity. It supports up to 4 displays (2× HDMI 2.0 + 2× USB-C / USB4), which is great for multitasking or creative workflows.

Gaming & Graphics

While the Radeon 680M isn’t a substitute for a dedicated GPU, in my (video-style) review I saw that many esports / lighter games run very well at 1080p high settings — games like Fortnite, CS2 performed smoothly. For heavier AAA titles, the performance drops: according to one review, “high-end games … run at 1080p low–medium” settings. Still — for a mini PC this size — it’s quite capable.

Cooling & Thermals

The device uses a built-in cooling solution (sometimes referred to as “IceBlast”), which keeps it reasonably cool and stable under moderate loads. But under sustained heavy loads (gaming, long rendering), the CPU can reach high temperatures (reports up to ~95 °C), and fan noise ramps up. That said, in less intense use, it stays quiet and comfortable.

3. Reliability & Build Quality

I found the build quality impressive — solid aluminum chassis, good craftsmanship, and a design that feels premium for a mini PC. There’s also some upgradability: RAM can go up to 64 GB, and storage via PCIe SSD is expandable.  In terms of connectivity, the A6 offers a generous selection: multiple USB-A, USB-C / USB4, HDMI ports, SD card slot, 2.5 Gb Ethernet, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.2 — giving flexibility for many use-scenarios.  Also, the manufacturer offers a 3-year warranty, which adds confidence in long-term reliability.

4. Cost Performance

One of the standout aspects for me is the A6’s cost-performance ratio. Considering the power of the Ryzen 7 6800H, 32 GB DDR5, and 1 TB NVMe SSD, the price is very reasonable — especially for a mini PC of this caliber.  Given its compactness and specs, it’s more cost-effective than many full desktops or gaming PCs (especially when factoring in space, energy usage, and portability).

Massive DDR5 RAM & Blazing-Fast Storage

32GB DDR5 4800MT/s – Seamless Multitasking

With 32GB of dual-channel DDR5, the A6 handles heavy multitasking without breaking a sweat. Switch effortlessly between demanding apps — Adobe Suite, IDEs, music production tools, business management systems — with zero lag.

Lag-free Creative Workflows

The high-speed memory ensures smooth performance even during data-heavy tasks such as 4K video editing, 3D modeling, or large dataset processing.

Improved Gaming Performance

Paired with the Radeon 680M, the fast DDR5 memory boosts frame rates and reduces load times in popular esports titles.

1TB PCIe Gen 4 SSD – Exceptional Capacity

The included 1TB NVMe Gen 4 SSD provides lightning-fast boot and load times, plus plenty of storage:

  • Store 200,000 photos
  • Keep 42,000 lossless music tracks
  • Save 200 hours of 1080p video
