Since January 15th, Senad Palic has been a new contact for games studios at the GameUp industry forum! Rhineland-Palatinate.
Advising, networking, supporting and making things visible – for example at the Gamescom joint stand: these are the tasks of Game Up! Rhineland-Palatinatewhich is based at the state innovation agency RLP and is supported by the Ministry of Economics. The range of events in particular, including the exchange between politics and the industry, is to be expanded in the coming years – and Senad Palic plays an important role in this as the newly qualified project manager.
Palic was employed as a marketing manager at Binary Impact GmbH in Niederelbert until the end of 2024, so he knows the day-to-day business of games developers firsthand. Binary Impact is one of those studios that received a funding decision from the Rhineland-Palatinate media funding agency shortly before Christmas – in this case for Forensics simulator.
Senad Palic: “As a fan of vintage and retro games, my heart beats not only for the classics of past decades, but also for current and innovative computer games. On a professional and voluntary basis, I have already experienced the connection between gaming culture and community in Rhineland-Palatinate and beyond very intensively. Now I'm even more excited about my new role as project manager of GameUp! Rhineland-Palatinate to be able to actively support, advise and network the entire gaming community – from studios and developers to politicians to founders and gamers.”
Preparations for the Game Up! appearance at Gamescom 2025 (August 20th to 24th) are already in full swing: studios and creative people from Rhineland-Palatinate want to present the diversity and innovative strength of the regional industry there.
Sabine Mesletzky, managing director of the innovation agency RLP, sees industry forums like GameUp! As added value for Rhineland-Palatinate, as they can have a deep impact on the respective industries: “Its anchoring within the innovation agency illustrates our focus on cross-innovation and creating new connections between different industries.”
The largest industry players in Rhineland-Palatinate include Ubisoft Mainz (Anno 1800, Anno 117: Pay Romana), Envision Entertainment (Pioneers of Pagonia) and Kalypso Media (Tropical 7, Dungeons 4, Commandos: Origins) as one of the largest owner-managed publishers and studios in the country.
