Fudan University said that after one year of hard work, by the start of the fall semester next year, Fudan will achieve “three penetration rates of 100%” in AI:AI courses cover all undergraduate and graduate students, AI + education covers all first-level disciplines, and AI literacy requirements cover all majors.
Fudan AI courses will create an “AI-BEST” curriculum system based on the characteristics of artificial intelligence development and the “portrait” of AI and AI+ talent training needs in the “popularization circle”, “core circle” and “advanced circle” of the whole school. The following courses will be created for the integration of undergraduate and postgraduate studies:
AI-Basic Courses (AI-B):Focus on AI mathematical foundations and programming training, application tool training and scenario development, and AI ethics education general core courses and general special courses. For all students in the school, we will construct new general core courses and general specialized courses in the field of AI, and ensure a large throughput of courses.
AI-Essential Courses (AI-E):Focusing on the core areas of artificial intelligence, starting from the underlying logic, the course systematically presents the basic and common knowledge system and core technologies of AI-related disciplines.. A unified AI professional training system and curriculum system will be established for the entire school, laying the foundation for the school to build a future-oriented AI major and AI + education system.
AI-Subject Courses (AI-S):AI+X courses are developed based on liberal arts, science, engineering, medicine and interdisciplinary subjects, combining AI technology with core knowledge of the subject.offering AI courses with disciplinary characteristics. At the same time, curriculum construction drives the cross-disciplinary integration of AI and builds advanced courses across first-level disciplines.
AI-Thematic Courses (AI-T): Based on various professional fields,Focusing on the specific AI application scenarios of social and economic development and industry, we will fully integrate curriculum construction with the integration of industry and education, and the integration of science and education.AI-T1 (industry-education integration course) targets the market, focuses on practical training and practice, develops courses and organizes teaching around scientific and intelligent integration innovation projects and industrial problems. AI-T2 (science-education integration course) encourages departments and teachers with vertical research and application needs to develop courses around various application scenarios and specific problems of AI-enabled scientific research and technology development.
According to reports, Nobel Prize winner Professor Michael Levitt will teach how AI can serve science around protein structure modeling; professors from the School of Philosophy will teach AI ethics courses; and Professor Qiu Xipeng, the designer of the country's first open source large model MOSS last year, will lead students to the forefront of the new wave of AI in the AI general education course.
