Frontier announces new management game and names release period

Fans of “Jurassic World” can expect a third game from Frontier Developments. The publication period was also roughly limited.

Frontier Developments has announced the development of a third “Jurassic World” after the first two parts of the “Evolution” series despite manageable ratings found plenty of fans.

The final name was not announced. Instead, it says succinctly that an agreement has been signed with Universal for “a third Jurassic World game”. However, fans should not expect a release any time soon.

Launch no earlier than mid-2025

The new “Jurassic World” is scheduled to appear in Frontier’s fiscal year 2026. This means that publication is possible from June 1, 2025 to May 31, 2026. Fans may have to wait up to two years.

Although it has not been confirmed that the third game will be called “Jurassic World Evolution”. According to Frontier, it is again a management game, as was the case with the previous games. The name “Jurassic World Evolution 3” would not be the biggest surprise in the coming years.

From a business perspective, the fact that a new part of the series is being created is a logical consequence. Frontier says “Jurassic World Evolution” is the studio’s best-selling game to date, with both “Evolution” games ranking first and second in terms of sales in their first two years.

Management simulations will now be in focus

Success determines Frontier Developments' future strategy. The studio now plans to release a new Creative Management Simulation (CMS) game every fiscal year.

A previously unannounced CMS game based on Frontier's in-house IP is expected to launch by the end of May 2025. The official announcement will be made “in the next few months.”

This will be followed by the “Jurassic World” game announced this week until the end of May 2026, while another CMS, which has not yet been described in more detail, is planned for the period until the end of May 2027.

Frontier has endured a difficult few years in which a number of high-profile games failed to meet sales expectations, underpinning its new focus on management simulations.

On the subject:

In the meantime, there were layoffs and at the beginning of April Frontier sold the publishing rights to “RollerCoaster Tycoon 3” to Atari. For this, the company received a sum of seven million US dollars.

But there has also been criticism from players recently: Frontier recently came under fire from “Elite Dangerous” owners after it announced that it would sell virtual spaceships for real money.
