Well, have you tried the best medieval role-playing game of recent years? Of course we’re talking about Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, which can objectively be called the best role-playing game in the Middle Ages at the moment. In our test it received a rating of 9.5/10 – and it’s well deserved.

This is what awaits you in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2
Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 offers an open, atmospheric medieval world that is about twice as large as its predecessor and consists of the rural “Bohemian Paradise” and the city of Kutná Hora. You can solve numerous missions in different ways – through Fight, sneak, diplomacy or intimidation – and the reactions of NPCs and society change dynamically based on your decisions.
The dialogue system has been expanded to include additional skills such as appearance, coercion and dominance, giving you even more influence on Henry’s development.
The gameplay relies on realistic details: you have to take food, sleep and hygiene into account, as your appearance and condition have a direct influence on social interactions. Your equipment also needs care – weapons like swords and axes need to be sharpened or repaired to remain effective.
Misbehavior in everyday life, such as moving around at night without lights, can result in criminal consequences such as fines or arrest. This lively simulation makes getting started challenging, but rewards you with a particularly intense experience.

The combat system is sophisticated and historically inspired: with star block system, stamina management, counters, combos and dodging, which requires a high level of practice. You have access to more modern medieval weapons such as crossbows, which can even be used from horseback, as well as early firearms, which opens up a certain tactical variety.
Most importantly, the world in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 invites you to explore – from dense forests to ruins to bustling cities and historical locations. With a playing time of 80 to 100 hoursbranching dialogues and multiple endings, the RPG also offers high replay value.
Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 was released on February 4, 2025 for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series.
