Do you bother with the airplane mode in your laptop? Does it happen that you accidentally activate it and suddenly stand without all communication options? This can happen if you use the Action Center and click incorrectly, or if the mouse pointer is just out on one of its regular escapades. The latter is not uncommon when it comes to laptops.
Then the good news is that in Windows 10 it is possible to turn off the aircraft mode permanently. By permanent we mean then for the time being – you can always regret if you ever have to use the mode again. This feature does not appear to exist in Windows 11.
The procedure is quite simple and only requires the use of the Command Prompt. It might be a good idea to save a little note on how to get everything back to normal if you ever were out and about.
- Right-click the Start button and select Command Prompt (Administrator).
- Write sc config rmsvc start = disabled and press Enter.
- Restart the computer.
After restarting your computer, you will still see Airplane Mode as an option in both the Action Center and Settings, but you will not be able to turn it on. Would you like to change back, do the same, but write instead sc config rmsvc start = auto.
