Fedora Project presented ultrabook Fedora Slimbook 2, available in 14- and 16-inch screen options. The device is an upgraded version of previous models that came with 14- and 16-inch screens. The differences are manifested in the use of the new generation Intel 13 Gen i7 CPU, the use of an NVIDIA RTX 4000 graphics card in the version with a 16-inch screen, and the availability of a silver and black aluminum and magnesium alloy case for ordering. The laptop was prepared jointly with the Spanish equipment supplier Slimbook.
Fedora Slimbook is optimized for the Fedora Linux 40 distribution and is specifically tested to achieve a high level of environmental stability and software-hardware compatibility. The initial cost of a device with a 14-inch screen is stated at 1399 euros, and for a 16-inch screen – 1799 euros, with 3% of the proceeds from the sale of devices planned to be donated to the GNOME Foundation. Fedora contributors receive a €100 discount.
