The Acolyte: The new trailer for the Star Wars series shows a villain like something out of a horror film

Fans claim to have discovered a clue as to who the real villain of The Acolyte is: A Sith who appeared in Star Wars Legends (i.e. the old canon). Darth Tenebrous is known.

What is this theory based on? In the new trailer for The Acolyte, a spaceship can be seen that is very reminiscent of the one described by Tenebrous in the novel Star Wars: Darth Plagueis. Tenebrous is the master of Plagueis, who in turn trained Palpatine to become Darth Sidious.

The fact that Darth Tenebrous could play a role in The Acolye would also work in terms of the timeline. Additionally, showrunner Leslye Headland (via starwars.com) already see that they definitely want to bring ideas and elements from the old canon into the new canon with their series.

In case you're wondering who Darth Tenebrous is supposed to be: The Bith, whose real name was Rugess Nome, was himself trained by Darth Ramage and worked as a developer of new and experimental spaceships. His first student was Darth Plagueis, who would ultimately kill him.

Of course, it is currently not confirmed that Tenebrous will actually appear or play a role in the new Star Wars series. We'll find out more from this at the latest June 5, 2024as soon as The Acolyte launches on Disney Plus.

Star Wars in the cinema will only continue from 2026. The Mandalorian & Grogu begins, while a film about Daisy Ridley as Rey and also a film about the story of the first Jedi are in the works. And maybe Rogue Squadron from Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins will actually come.
