It is not unusual for a series of a game to have an impact on the number of players. Accordingly, Fallout players are currently experiencing a rapid increase.

The Fallout series has hit like a bomb and everywhere you can see at least satisfied and even euphoric reactions. This is more than clearly reflected in the player numbers over the weekend, which increased massively after the series was released.

Fallout 4 could be loud SteamDB even work its way into the top 20 of the most played titles at the weekend and attract over 80,000 simultaneous players to the PCs – a whopping four-fold increase in the already stable number of players. Fallout 76 barely reached the 40,000 mark and Fallout: New Vegas also reached new heights with almost 20,000 players.

On social media you could always find comments from users who had either never or barely played Fallout and now wanted to take a look because of the series, but also from happy veterans who were interested in playing the games again.

The fact that some of the Fallout titles are currently available for free and are now also available on streaming services such as NVIDIA GeForce NOW or Amazon Luna may also have contributed to the high number of players. It doesn't make much sense to play Fallout 4 at the moment, because the game is getting a next-gen upgrade and a comprehensive PC update in ten days on April 25th.

The new Fallout boom is likely to be received more than favorably at Bethesda and the second season of the series, which has already been almost confirmed, will probably provide another boost, whenever it comes. But there is still bad news about the series, because due to the upcoming next-gen upgrade, the almost completed Fallout: London mod had to be postponed indefinitely.
