Fallout on Prime: Amazon reports incredible viewership

The next success number is here. It is now clear how many viewers watched the “Fallout” series on Amazon Prime in the first 16 days.

“Fallout” is on everyone's lips after the TV series of the same name Amazon Prime* caused a surge in popularity. Traffic numbers skyrocketed and games that had been on the market for years set new records.

But the Prime series itself is also a complete success. Already in the first week according to an extrapolation recorded more than five million views and the episodes had 2.5 billion minutes watched. This information is long outdated and a new, much more impressive number is available.

This is how many viewers were counted in the first 16 days

Amazon points out that “Fallout” attracted more than 65 million viewers within the first 16 days. Loud Variety This is the second highest viewership an Amazon Prime series has achieved in a 16-day period. Only “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” was able to attract more viewers to the screen in 2022.

Restricted to the 18- to 34-year-old age group, “Fallout” has established itself as the most-watched series on Amazon Prime in its first 16 days. 60 percent of viewers are based outside the USA. The series has particularly high ratings in France, Great Britain and Brazil, the breakdown of the figures continues.

Amazon has not provided any further information about how viewers are counted. It is therefore not absolutely clear whether a viewer only appears in the statistics once if he has seen several episodes or whether the accesses to the individual episodes were added together. Since reference is generally made to the viewers of the first 16 days, the first variant sounds more likely.

In the case of “The Last of Us” the counting was done differently. It was leaked in May 2023 that every episode of the HBO series would be available across platforms at that time an average of 32 million viewers came. The first episode scored 10 million views in just two days.

Fallout development should be accelerated

While 65 million viewers makes for an impressive number and one second season of the “Fallout” series is long gone, the new attention will apparently lead to more games being released more quickly.

Initially, there was a rumor going around that Microsoft wanted to speed things up. There was also talk of unannounced projects. We reported in both cases:
