Fallout 4 Next-Gen Update: What's in it?
The free update for Fallout 4 will be released today, April 25, 2024, for PS5, Xbox Series S/X and PC. The patch adds two new graphics modes to the consoles (Quality and Performance). It should also run at 60 frames per second and higher resolution. Additionally, the game will receive some bug fixes and new Creation Club content will be added centered around the Enclave. In addition to a few new items and skins, there will also be a fresh quest series “Echoes of the Past”.
On the PC, Fallout 4 is also receiving a patch that includes several bug fixes for quests and is intended to improve stability. Ultra-wide monitors will also be supported in the future. Additionally, Fallout 4 will also be verified for the Steam Deck.

When will the next-gen patch for Fallout 4 be released?
There is no official confirmation yet. However, maintenance has been announced for 10am UTC (corresponding to 12 noon German time), so many are expecting the update to be installed at lunchtime. Others think it will appear between 5 and 6 p.m. As soon as the patch is live, we will update this message.
Will my mods still work after the update?
In the past, patches for Bethesda games have often caused problems interacting with mods. According to the developers, they made sure that the next-gen update would get in the way of the mods as little as possible, but unfortunately there is no guarantee. If you really want to play Fallout 4 with your favorite mods after the next-gen update, you may have to wait a few days until the mod developers have adapted their own creations to the new game version. Alternatively, you can of course continue playing Fallout 4 unpatched.

What about Fallout: London? Shouldn't this be released on April 23rd?
The eagerly awaited Total Conversion for Fallout 4 actually already had a fixed release date, but had to Unfortunately postponed at short notice due to the next-gen update become.
