The “Far Harbor” DLC is one of the most extensive expansions to Fallout 4 and, even years after its release, still presents you with one of the trickiest challenges in the game: that DiMA puzzle. So that you don’t get stuck, we’ll show you here all solutions step by step.

DiMA puzzle explained: This is how the puzzle works

In the puzzle you move small “indexers” (green data bugs) through a virtual environment. Your goal: Leads the indexers to yellow data stream. They bring the data back to the start (blue data stream). Each run gives you 20% progress – so you need several successful paths.

  • The puzzle works like building settlements. The Handling So it shouldn’t be too difficult for you.
  • The further you get in the puzzle, the more difficult it becomes.
  • You can also store blocks, turrets and amplifiers in your inventory. This is particularly useful later on. This way you can gradually dismantle blocks and then place them somewhere else.
  • You can also rotate the guns and other items. If the laser needs to point in a certain direction, you should simply let it rotate.
  • The red guards spawn at two points in the virtual world. Pay attention to where they appear and place guns here.
  • Explores the entire map. Redirecting the light rays is the most difficult part of the DiMA puzzle. You should especially look at the lower floors, as they are often essential for solving the puzzle.

The most important tips for all puzzles

  • Explore the map completely: Hidden levels are particularly important
  • Just think: Many solutions work with minimal setup

DiMA puzzle solutions – all levels in detail

Reminder 1: Solve 0V-9AX0

  1. Take the four light code blocks at the start.
  2. Build a bridge to the next platform.
  3. Removes the block containing the Decoder beam blocked.
  4. Continue building towards the firewall.
  5. Rotates the decoder relay so that the beam hits the firewall.
  6. Builds the final path to the data stream.
  7. Place turrets at corners as soon as enemies appear.

Reminder 2: Solve 0J-2NN8

  1. Jump down to the decoder beam.
  2. Removes the block blocking the beam.
  3. Follow the beam and collect code blocks.
  4. Aligns the relay so that it faces the first firewall.
  5. Targetedly removes a block to create a “Window” for the beam to create.
  6. You build a small pillar near the large firewall.
  7. Put the relay on it and point it at the weak point in the firewall.
  8. Build one 2 block wide bridge to the data stream.
  9. Place turrets along the path and near the data streams.

Reminder 3: Solve 0H-3X0P

  1. Dismantle the wall in front of you and build a bridge out of it.
  2. The beam automatically deactivates the first firewall.
  3. Go up left to a room with a decoder relay.
  4. Take all the blocks and the relay with you.
  5. Place a block on top of the existing block in the middle.
  6. Place the relay on it and deactivate the left firewall.
  7. Moves the beam further up to the next firewall.
  8. Build a path through the long corridor.
  9. Climb across the corridor and aim a second relay at the last weak point.
  10. Build a wide bridge to the data stream and secure it with guns.

Reminder 4: Solve 0Z-7A4K

  1. Collect all code blocks and the first relay on the right.
  2. Build one next to the beam 3 block high pillar.
  3. Place the relay on the side and deactivate the first firewall.
  4. Get the second relay from the exposed area.
  5. Repositions the first relay so that it is the lateral weak point the big firewall hits.
  6. Go down to the origin of the beam.
  7. Build two blocks in the direction of the beam and set a relay there.
  8. Direct the beam over the broken bridge.
  9. Set the second relay so that the beam goes into the Relay wall is directed.
  10. This directs the beam back upwards and deactivates the firewall.
  11. Now build a stable path (at least 2 blocks wide) to the data stream.
  12. Place guns near target and return route.

Reminder 5: Solve 0Y-8K7D

The fifth puzzle is the most complicated because you have to connect several islands and route the decoder beam back to the main firewall via several relays.

  1. Collect all code blocks on the starting platform.
  2. Build a bridge to the central island with the pyramid.
  3. Remove all the blocks on the outside and above.
  4. Sets the existing relay on two blocks and points it at one side firewall.
  5. Build a bridge to the island with the four pillars.
  6. Collect all the blocks and the relay there.
  7. Continue building to the small side island and collect more blocks.
  8. Back to Pillar Island:
    • Build one 3 pillar
    • Put a relay on top
    • Disables the next firewall
  9. Get the next relay from the small island.
  10. Go to the island opposite the data stream and remove blocks so that the beam can run completely through.
  11. Build to the island with the stairs.
  12. Removes the blockage in front of the beam at the top.
  13. Set a relay to direct the beam back to the main platform.
  14. Now comes the crucial step:
    • Establishes a connection back to the home page
    • Aligns multiple relays so that the beam at the level of the weak point of the final firewall arrives
  15. Once the firewall goes down:
    • Builds the path to the data stream
    • Places guns at start and finish areas
