Which games are particularly popular in German retail? In the case of the PS5, there is an answer. The Xbox Series X/S charts, on the other hand, offer a glimpse into the void.
GfK Entertainment names the most successful games in German retail and presents the top 2 for different platforms, although there are several restrictions. On the one hand, the increasingly dominant digital sales are not included. And the charts for the Xbox Series X/S are completely absent this week.

There are no surprises in the German PS5 charts: In retail, “Stellar Blade” also went on sale last week. In the UK charts (digital and retail), however, the title did not even make it in the cross-platform top 10. Second place in the PS5 rankings went to “Marvel's Spider-Man 2” as in the previous week.
There were no changes in the PS4 charts either. Here, the Premium Edition of “GTA 5” continues to be the benchmark, followed by “Minecraft”.
No game qualifies for Xbox Series X/S
GFK also published a list for the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S consoles, but without any entries. The data collectors simply wrote: “Unfortunately, no title could qualify for the Xbox Series charts this week.”
It is not known what is needed to qualify for the charts. However, the statement suggests that retail sales of games for the Xbox Series Duo have now fallen below a certain level and are no longer suitable for meaningful charts.

It has been said in the past that Xbox games are no longer a lucrative business in retail:
The Xbox One charts also only consist of one game. The Premium Edition of “GTA 5” leads the charts. Due to the Redmond company’s smart delivery strategy, the charts for the last-gen console have been playing a special role for some time.
Hardly any retailer would want to do without Switch games. “Mario” games are particularly in demand here, as the list below shows. “Sea of Stars” came in at number 6.
We can basically ignore the PC charts, as games are sold almost exclusively via Steam and Co. In retail, “Farming Simulator 22” is still in demand. The Steam top sellers you can see here.

How are the charts created? GfK Entertainment points to over 2,000 sales outlets from which it obtains the data. They are said to cover 70 percent of the German market.
