But the service doesn't even exist here. Now Amazon has won the contract and is finally bringing the “Twisted Metal” series to Germany after months. Relatively surprisingly you can all ten episodes since April 26th Watch on Amazon with a Prime subscription (watch on Amazon Prime Video).

The series is based on the video game series of the same name, which was released for the Playstation between 1995 and 2012. Although Peacock is the original client of the series, it was developed and implemented directly by Playstation Productions and Sony Pictures Television. But what is it actually about? Potential viewers who don't even know the video games are wondering. On Amazon we can read the following about this:

Twisted Metal is a high-octane action comedy based on a template by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (Deadpool, Zombieland) and written by Michael Jonathan Smith (Cobra Kai). It's about a motorized chatterbox and outsider who is offered the chance for a better life, but only if he manages to deliver a mysterious package through a post-apocalyptic wasteland.

We see the well-known actor in the main role of “John Doe”. Anthony Mackie. Fans of the MCU know him as Sam Wilson aka Falcon or, since the events of “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” (watch on Disney+), as the new Captain America. A role that Mackie will reprise in the feature film Captain America: Brave New World. The film will be the next film in the MCU and is scheduled to hit theaters on February 14, 2025. Before that, however, there will be a reunion with Deadpool on July 26, 2024 in cinemas around the world.

Viewers teach critics a lesson

Back to “Twisted Metal” and the question: Is the series any good? An IMDb rating of 7.4 points sounds quite promising. However, only 67 percent of the professional critics on Rotten Tomatoes were enthusiastic about the series.

No matter, because outstanding 93 percent of actual viewers are in favor of the post-apocalyptic action comedy series. Also more than enough for Peacock to commission a second season of the series in December 2023. So it continues, but first you have to discover the first season on Amazon Prime Video.
