Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree DLC won't have as many endings as the base game | Xbox

We now know that Shadow of the Erdtree will be the one and only expansion for Elden Ring, but there are still some mysteries surrounding the long-awaited DLC. Games from the FromSoftware studio are known for offering a diversity of endings and Hidetaka Miyazaki has provided some details regarding Shadow of the Erdtree.

Shadow of the Erdtree won't have as many endings as the base game

Still in the interview given to Campfire Campthe one where we had already learned that there would be no other expansion, the game director confirmed that the choice made at the end of the base game will not have an impact on the DLC .

He also confirmed that there will not be as many endings as in the base experience, but that players will still have “choices” to make throughout the adventure.

The DLC is standalone, so the player's choices in the main story will not affect the DLC story. As for the ending, there is no “end” or “end”. Of course, the DLC won't have as many endings as the main game, but players will still have to make “choices” during the game.

Rather discreet since the big reveal in February, the studio should increase the hype in the coming weeks, to the extent that Shadow of the Erdtree will be available from June 21.

It will obviously be available to discover on all platforms where Elden Ring is playable, namely on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC.

What to expect from Shadow of the Erdtree?

Hidetaka Miyazaki spoke with JV, thus helping to clarify what to expect from Shadow of the Erdtree in terms of content. The expansion is thus the largest produced by the studio to date, in particular thanks to the introduction of a new zone, namely the Land of Shadows.

FromSoftware not only created a new playground with new stories, monstrosities and bosses, but also brought in completely new mechanics. Some of them were already studied during the development of Elden Ring, but did not really fit into the Underworld.

Thus, players will be able to count on no less than eight new types of weapons, such as throwing objects (although there are already some in the base game), or unarmed combat.

Hidetaka Miyazaki also provided some details on the temporality of the extension. It will take place at the same time as the base game and, to access it, you will need to have previously defeated Mohg and Radhan. IGNwho was also able to conduct an interview, reports that “in terms of scale or size”, the playing field is “comparable, if not larger, than the Necrolimbe area in the base game”.

Players can expect a level of exploration and an experience similar to what they can experience today with Elden Ring. To discover this mountain of content, it will then be necessary to go to the cocoon from which an arm protrudes at the very beginning of the trailer. The most diligent will have understood, all this obviously has a link with Miquella!
