EA is under enormous pressure for the next Battlefield: After Battlefield 2042, which was disappointing for many fans, the next title in the series has to regain lost trust. Another botched release would probably alienate many players completely from the brand.

EA boss Andrew Wilson is now promising big things, at least to his own investorsafter he was apparently able to play the new shooter himself.

Massive live service

Like, among other things Insider Gaming reportssaid Wilson in the investor call for Battlefield 7. According to him works the greatest team in franchise history on the new shooter.

It was recently announced that a studio that was only founded in 2022 for the story of the next Battlefield was closed. However, EA announced some time later that the developers of the Dead Space remake, EA Motive, were now also working on the next title in the series.

Are Activision, EA & Co. incapable of innovation?

As Wilson explains in the investor call, he was able to visit the developers a few weeks ago and see the new Battlefield for himself:

I've spent a lot of time with the entire Battlefield team and playing what they're building. It will be another massive live service.

The word Live service may be well received by investors, but many players will probably cringe at first. Battlefield 2042 already wanted to rely on such a model. But before the first season could appear with new content, the shooter had to be repaired for months after its catastrophic release. And even afterwards, many players were rather dissatisfied with the innovations offered.

However, Wilson's statement also shows that Battlefield 7 is already partially playable. The development could therefore already be relatively advanced. But when we could expect a first trailer is still unclear.

So while the development of Battlefield 7 is in full swing, Battlefield 2042 will no longer receive any new content. As you can read in more detail in the news above, the developers want to concentrate on the next game. Our shooter expert Phil will explain to you what the successor absolutely has to achieve.
