Dragon Ball Sparking! Zero: Kefla, Gotenks, 5v5 battles

The field of fighters in “Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero” seems to be filling up more and more. A new leak now reveals more characters for the upcoming anime fighting game, including Gotenks and Kefla.

Although the anime fighting game Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero” still doesn't have a release date, more and more details are now coming to light. After we last in Master and Apprentice Trailer new characters were revealed, a leak revealed game characters again. What's more: The new issue of V-Jump magazine contains even more exciting information, which we'll go through with you below.

First of all, about the new characters: The corresponding page in the magazine, which, among other things, is from @DbsHype on X/Twitter was shared, confirms Fusion Warrior! In more detail, Kefla and Gotenks can be seen in the screenshots shown. The two Saiyan fighters Caulifla and Kale, who merge to form Kefla, have been known for some time. New again are Son-Goten and Trunks, who we can also see in the pictures.

Chaotic Sparking! Zero team battles

Another interesting detail relates to a game mode. The latest V-Jump leak reveals one 5v5 team battle mode. Of course, two troops, each consisting of five well-known characters, compete against each other. Are two “Dragon Ball: Sparking!” Zero” figures are “compatible” with each other, such as Caulifla and Kale or Son-Goten and Trunks, they can fuse with each other to form Kefla or Gotenks.

The leak does not confirm any further details. Since Bandai Namco Entertainment has released a new trailer for the anime fighting game relatively shortly after the last leaks, we could expect a new video soon. However, this is not official yet and as usual, Bandai Namco has not yet commented on the details in the V-Jump edition. We will probably only get more detailed insights with the official confirmation.

But the V-Jump leak about Kefla and Gotenks is not the only information about “Dragon Ball: Sparking!” Zero,” which recently came to light. A few days ago a rating for the game appeared at the IMDA (Infocomm Media Development Authority) in Singapore, matching one ESRB rating in the USA/Canada. Exciting detail: The IMDA entry refers to the year “2024”which could make a release this year likely (via Exuter). However, since Bandai Namco Entertainment has not yet commented on this, you should not take this information at face value at this point.

Should you start with “Sparking!” Zero” delve into the “Dragon Ball” universe for the first time, and a few words on the aforementioned “Fusion” point. Over the course of the main story, two fusion techniques appear particularly prominently: Metamorph Fusion and Potara Fusion. In both cases, two people temporarily merge to form a completely new being, which, if the fusion is successful, is significantly more powerful than its “source materials”.

Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero is in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC (via Steam). The anime fighting game currently does not have a release date.
