Why disable crossplay in SoT?

As you know, Sea of ​​Thieves is a multiplayer game where up to 16 pirates share a world map ideal for confrontations and treasures to collect and then sell. It's decided, you don't want to leave too many feathers during fights because of players quicker than lightning using a damn mouse. Cross-platform play is enabled by default. To disable crossplay, you must display the settings when you are in the game menus (triangle on PS5, Y on Xbox). A whole bunch of options then appear. In the drop-down menu on the left (keyboard, controller, controls, etc.), scroll down until you reach “Matchmaking Preferences”. Here you will find a “allow cross-platform play” setting. Set to “No” to only play with other PlayStation Network players.

You can also allow crossplay but only ask to meet players who have a controller. Go to the line “Prefer console players with controllers” and write “Yes”. You can return to the main SoT screen and plan your trip.
