Didn’t you do it? The fake census takers want to take advantage of this

The National Census is now over, but the scammers have not abandoned the “enumerator” method. They look for victims among latecomers who have not done their job on time and are now nervously, fearing punishment, looking for contact with any accountant.

The National Census ended on September 30. However, there are still people who forgot to write up or ignored the deadline and are now trying to find any calculator to avoid punishment. The problem is that they will find fraudsters more often, as experts of the ChronPESEL.pl website warn about.

In recent months, fraudsters pretending to be enumerators most often called their victims with a request for data such as earnings, assets, data from an ID card or a bank account. In fact, the Central Statistical Office did not collect such information.

Meanwhile, according to a survey conducted in the first half of 2021 by ChronPESEL.pl and the National Debt Register under the patronage of the Office for Personal Data Protection, every fourth respondent confirmed that during the pandemic he received a phone call asking for a PESEL number or banking login details electronic.

The end of the census does not mean that the threat has passed. – If we have not completed the census before September 30 and before this deadline we have not reported to the Central Statistical Office, we cannot do it anymore. Let’s not be fooled by the numbers of enumerators waiting for latecomers posted on various forums – explains Bartłomiej Drozd, expert of the ChronPESEL.pl website.
