Destiny 2: In The Final Shape changes power levels and makes old weapons playable

Bungie allows you to use all weapons again in Destiny 2: The Final Shape because the controversial power limits are being removed from all older weapons. The developer for The Final Shape continues to tinker with the power level.

A completely different feeling of power

In The Final Sape – or “The Final Form”, as the expansion is called here in Germany – you travel inside the Traveler to save the world from the Witness. This corrupts the traveler from within and slowly causes his paradise to wither.

With new powers in your pocket, you face the last enemy in the saga of light and darkness. These can be combined more flexibly than ever before in Destiny 2. You also have more choice when it comes to weapons, because Bungie allows you to use every weapon regardless of power level.

This makes it easier to play with friends. Whoever has the highest level in the fireteam becomes the “power role model” and all other players are automatically ranked five powers below the role model. This only affects the difficulty of the activity. You will still receive your rewards for your normal power level.

In addition, the power limit is reduced to 40. From one expansion to the next it was usually 150 power. Some activities also have access with disabled or enabled power. Missions with disabled power are always the same and do not become more difficult as the power level increases. Activities with activated power level have power caps and adapt to your strength.

From The Final Shape onwards, your power level also applies to all classes – it becomes your account power, so to speak. If you have multiple characters, you don't have to level up their items and you save yourself a lot of grind.

In addition, you can no longer only get top gear from dungeons and raids. You can also get these incredibly good items from the Gambit, the Strikes or the Crucible. This should also give players a chance at the good material who only occasionally get a taste of the game or are just starting to play.

You can find out more about this in official Destiny 2 blog.
