Dbrand announced around the launch of the PlayStation 5 at the end of last year that it would start selling custom faceplates for the PlayStation 5, as the faceplates are relatively easy to remove from the console.
In February, Dbrand started selling the faceplates under the name ‘Darkplates’ for $50. Sony then announced that it was demanding that the company stop doing so. Previously, Sony also prevented another company from selling faceplates for the PS5.
In a statement Dbrand said last weekend that it has received a letter from lawyers at Sony Interactive Entertainment. The lawyers say in it that they will sue the company if it continues with the sale. Dbrand has the letter shared online.
