Cybersup: A Recognized Cybersecurity Educational Institution in the Heart of Paris La Défense

“The issue of cybersecurity is a societal issue but the sector lacks skills both from a qualitative and quantitative point of view, from Bac + 3 to Bac + 8”, explains Steve Danino, co-founder of Cybersup. This new higher education school of cybersecurity, whose campus is located in Paris La Défense, will welcome its first class at the start of the 2024 school year.

This training tool was born from the collaboration of the Plateforme, a major digital school located in the south of France, with Frojal, majority shareholder of Lefebvre Sarrut, market leader in publishing, continuing education and software in the areas of law and figures. “Every year, there are 25,000 digital graduates when the market demands 40,000,” adds Cyril Zimmerman, director of the Platform and co-founder of Cybersup.

“We bring together project pedagogy around concrete cases developed by the Platform and consideration of increasingly evolving regulatory issues.” Steve Danino refers in particular to the NIS 2 directives, which deal with information systems and business continuity, or to the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA). “This encourages companies to put resources into cybersecurity and to be more demanding on profiles.”

Construction training

For the founders of Cybersup, current training does not meet their expectations. “In engineering schools, there are specializations but very few schools provide full-cycle cybersecurity training and none emphasize the regulatory dimension.”

At the start of the 2024 school year, Cybersup, located on the Esplanade de la Défense, will offer its first two courses: a third year of bachelor's degree focused on cybersecurity and a master's degree in data protection, DPO. The two courses should bring together between 30 and 50 students, selected on their motivation. “In 2025, we will add a Master 1 in cybersecurity for our bachelor students while we are targeting 200 students within 5 years,” underlines Cyril Zimmermann. Attentive to the impact of AI on cybersecurity, the school will, for example, integrate a module dedicated to the automation of pentesting (penetration tests).

To supervise and train future students in both fundamentals and the latest technological advances, Cybersup provides two educational levels. The first concerns the supervision of projects with trainers with 10 to 20 years of experience. The second is similar to masterclasses given by experts with legitimacy. “We will train operational profiles, adapted and adaptable. They will respond to two families of professions: functional security around consulting and audit; operational security for those who act on the system”, explains Steve Danino.

Social role

The new school emphasizes its accessibility to as many people as possible. “Private schools require a high annual cost which excludes some of the students. We finance the first year by finding revenue and the work-study program finances schooling from the second year onwards,” develops Cyril Zimmermann who has applied this operation to his various establishments. Cybersup will thus welcome 30% scholarship holders from their first year of training.
