Fortnite Ballisitic is intended to be a competitive shooter in which two teams of five players each fight for dominance of the map. But there is a special feature.

Unlike Fortnite's normal battle royale mode, Fortnite Ballistic is not played from a third-person perspective, but from a first-person perspective. The goal of the game mode is for one team to place a “device” in one of two locations. The other team has to try to prevent this or at least defuse the “device” so that it doesn't explode. It is not entirely coincidental that this concept is reminiscent of Shooter classic Counter Strike. In addition to the core gameplay, there are even more similarities: All players start with a pistol and can earn credits over the course of the game that they can spend on better weapons and gadgets.
