Adrian Dittman has a salient characteristic: he is a fan of Elon Musk. Very fan. He regularly shares the billionaire’s tweets and responds to him directly (“ you are a great father, Elon “, “ Elon really did it himself ), praises the advances of his companies SpaceX and Tesla… He even participates in certainalls to the shareholders of these firms.

On May 7, 2024, Adrian Dittman stood out in a virtual “room” on X dedicated to oral conversations. He is heard speaking to Nick Fuentes, a young white supremacist that Elon Musk recently agreed to reinstate on the platform. “ Make controversial jokes to a minimum “, we hear him advise Fuentes, so as not to let this ” falls » about the boss of X. We can hear the other listeners giggling: “ Okay, quite ordinary individual », replies Fuentes, as if it were an overheard joke: Adrian Dittman would be an alias of Musk.

Who is Adrian Dittman?

On February 18, 2024, several American media began to take an interest in this mysterious Adrian, whom no one has been able to physically meet until now. The man had just participated in a podcast with far-right polemicist Alex Jones, as reported by Daily Dot and the RTBF. Listeners were surprised by the resemblance of his voice with that of Elon Musk, generating a small buzz around this mysterious profile, as well as a massive arrival of followers on his account. In December 2023, there were only 26,000, or 3 times fewer.

Aware of the growing rumors about him, the person concerned published on March 3 proof that he would not be Musk. While some asked him for a video, he responded in the form of an audio clip.

I am German, I learned English thanks to the BBC, then through interactions with American friends », we hear him say in a Space audio group conversation (an X feature), to explain his particular accent. A listener addresses him a sentence in German; he quickly responds with a few words in the Germanic language: “ Can you understand me? » (Can you tell me what to do?).

Adrian Dittmann had already been spotted in July 2023. During a conversation in another Twitter Space, the Internet user spoke in front of a stunned audience: “ This guy has the same voice as Musk », Commented one of them. “ I have this voice all the time, it's not AI », had sworn Dittmann, obviously still very amused to surprise the gallery when he opened his mouth alongside other Musk fans. The next day on X, the billionaire concerned had commented : “ It was a crazy situation! », accompanied by a laughing emoji.

Musk is accustomed to aliases

Musk has already been pinned in 2023 for his use, at a minimum, of another profile: the one he had created for his son X Æ A-12 (since suspended). He used it in particular to make his offspring speak in the first person.

He was accused of stealing the @e identifier from a user in 2022, when he took control of the social network.

In April 2024, he also admitted that he had at least one other account, while under oath during a hearing before the American courts. It is @babysmurf2000 (“baby smurf”), who regularly defends Musk online.
