Controversy Surrounds the Remaster in Gaming Community, Players Express Frustration

The remaster of the first three Tomb Raider is overall a great success, but one version of it is very disturbing and the studio has therefore taken the floor to apologize.

Last month, we were finally able to welcome Tomb Raider I-III Remastered. A compilation which brings together the first three opuses of the famous franchise, but in the form of a remaster. On the menu, numerous graphic improvements, a Photo mode, 4K, in short, we (re)discover true classics, but with a touch of modernity. Generally speaking, players are quite satisfied with the result, but there is still a big problem that was noted with one of the versions of the game. Aspyr then made a statement to apologize.

Tomb Raider remaster had an issue on the Epic Games Store

Yes, it may seem quite surprising, but the Tomb Raider remaster was obviously not up to par on the Epic Games Store. Obviously, the version deployed on the platform was incomplete. As a result, the community began to make comparisons with that on Steam, and they did not fail to express their dissatisfaction. The difference seems obvious, and fans don't understand why. What happened to Aspyr? The firm quickly published a press release to explain itself, and indeed, we are dealing with a big blunder.

In fact, the Tomb Raider remaster build on the Epic Games Store has incomplete assets, hence the criticism from players. At the same time, it should quickly catch your eye when you're playing. The studio makes it clear that this is not its vision of the finished product, and that it will quickly take care of it. On this subject, he informs us that a first big update is approaching. She's going to tackle a number of issues, and we can't wait to see what awaits us. It goes without saying that it will undoubtedly be quite massive. For its part, the EGS version has normally been corrected to correspond to that accessible via Steam.

We are currently working on the first update, which should launch in the coming weeks. Regarding the version available on the Epic Games Store. A build with incomplete assets has been made available for download on the EGS.

The content in this release contained work in progress that does not meet our expectations for the final quality of the product. We've fixed the build to match the Steam version.
