At a time when many Blockbuster at the box office, animated films suddenly dominate the scene. “Inside Out 2” and “Despicable Me 4” Animated films occupy two of the top 3 of the (current) cinema year 2024. Now the new Transformers movie in cinemas, which tells the story of the legendary Enmity between Optimus Prime and Megatron told. Can “Transformers One” the cinema hits of the year like “Deadpool & Wolverine” and Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire still make you sweat? I watched the new Transformers movie to answer that question.
“Transformers One” reveals the biggest secret of the Transformers series
How are Megatron and Optimus Prime actually too bitter enemies Whoever has always wanted to hear the answer to this question in around 100 words, has come to the right place. “Transformers One” exactly right. The animation film of the studio “Industrial Light & Magic” (a division of Lucasfilm) has with the new Transformers film a visual and sound delight created, but in two crucial places weakens.
About 100 minutes long “Transformers One” the Origins of the enmity between Megatron and Optimus Prime, who initially work as miners in the underground cyberpunk-like city of “Iacon City” and have to risk their lives in the mines. Robbed of their blocks, they are unable to transform and must accept their fate. But the two best friends no longer want to submit to this dreary existence and to the surface of the Planet “Cybertron” to free their people.
They succeed and so begins the adventure in which Megatron and Optimus Prime encounter some ugly truths which ultimately leads to the classic grand finale with the accompanying epic battle The narrative path there is paved with some clumsy slapstick jokes in the style of Minions – you can like it, but for me this kind of humor elicits a weary smile at best. I enjoyed the Buddy story of the two protagonists as well as the great atmosphere both below and above the surface of the planet “Cybertron”. For whom is it worth it Cinema ticket for “Transformers One”?
Is it worth going to the cinema to see “Transformers One”?
I think “Transformers One” appeals primarily to two target groups: passionate Transformers fans – and younger cinema-goers in general. I don't belong to either group, but I still had fun at the press screening in Nuremberg. This is partly due to the points already mentioned, and partly due to some Elements of the story, which reminded me strongly of one of my favorite movies of all time: Matrix. I don’t want to go into it in more detail for spoiler reasons, you will notice for yourself.
In addition to the already mentioned crude humor (weak point number 1), “Transformers One” has another second problem: The second half of the film is much more exciting than the first half. Anyone who sees the film in cinema will stay seated long enough after paying the purchase price for a cinema ticket to more exciting second half But if you watch “Transformers One” at home in a few months, you might lose interest too soon and drift to the second screen on smartphones That would be a shame, because the second half of the new Transformers movie is really worth seeing, even if you are not an ardent fan of the series. There is still one question that remains unanswered, which is a question that is raised with almost all new films these days: Is there a post-credit scene?
