CI Games mentions planned improvements

CI Games has shared a few details about the planned “Lords of the Fallen” successor in the latest investor report.

“Lords of the Fallen” is CI Games' next project.

CI Games announced a successor to “Lords of the Fallen” last June. This will be an exclusive release for the Epic Games Store on PC. Unreal Engine 5 is used in development, meaning the studio is also working with Epic Games.

There is still a lot of time until publication. The Soulslike role-playing game is scheduled to come onto the market sometime in 2026.

CI Games has now revealed a few more details in the latest investor report. Several gameplay improvements are planned, including more game mode options, a more commercial art style, and a more mass-market narrative and higher production values. In addition to the central single-player campaign, there will also be full shared progress in co-op mode.

The announcement will take place next year. A major marketing campaign is planned for this purpose, with which those responsible will take advantage of brand awareness and the growing customer base.

Two further projects are being planned

Aside from “Lords of the Fallen 2,” which will probably be called “Death of the Fallen,” CI Games is developing two other games. One of them is a new “Sniper Ghost Warrior” spin-off, the other an action RPG based on a new brand. Both are in pre-production.

The new IP in particular should be in the “highly commercial” fantasy genre. Here too, the development team uses Unreal Engine 5. The architecture and systems from “Lords of the Fallen” and its successors are also used.

“Lords of the Fallen” was released on October 13, 2023 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. The title reached one on Metacritic Value of 75 points. The user score was slightly worse, at 6.7 points.
