Which games are particularly popular in German retail? The latest charts reveal what ends up in shopping carts most often in this country. It was a successful week, especially for “Marvel’s Spider-Man 2”.

While the European charts recently made it clear that the “Fallout” series from the Amazon Prime series of the same name can benefit, the Bethesda games do not (yet) appear in the German retail charts.
Instead, two Sony games remain at the top of the PS5 rankings. While Insomniac's “Marvel's Spider-Man 2” grabbed first place after a re-entry, second place went “Helldivers 2”. The last-mentioned shooter was created at the external studio Arrowhead.
Things went downhill for Dragon's Dogma 2
The charts published by GfK Entertainment are usually limited to the top two places. However, this time it was mentioned that “Dragon's Dogma 2” on the PS5 fell to fifth place and the deluxe edition of “Pacific Drive” landed in seventh place.
“Dragon's Dogma 2” also had to give up on the Xbox Series X/S. “WWE 2K24” grabbed first place after a re-entry, so the Capcom title has to settle for second place.
The Rockstar blockbuster “GTA 5” continues to dominate the last-gen console charts. The title is at the top on both PS4 and Xbox One. This is followed by “Minecraft” (PS4) and “Burnout Paradise” (Xbox One).
There were no changes on the Nintendo Switch either: “Princess Peach: Showtime!” remains at number one, as it did the previous week, ahead of “Super Mario Bros. Wonder”. We can basically ignore the PC rankings because PC games are sold primarily digitally.

According to GfK Entertainment, the rankings are created using information from over 2,000 sales outlets and cover around 70 percent of the German market. Digital sales, which have now become dominant, are obviously left out.
