Capcom has two series in particular from which the Japanese game developer and publisher makes regular profits. These include “Resident Evil” and “Monster Hunter”.

Nine of the ten best-selling games come from the two brands mentioned. After all: With 7.8 million copies sold, “Devil May Cry 5” comes in 10th place. But players have been waiting for a new part for years.

Dragon's Dogma 2 is listed as a core brand

In the latest annual report Capcom elaborated the core brands one, which is “Monster Hunter”, “Resident Evil”, “Street Fighter” and, most recently, another IP: In the same breath the company mentions “Dragon's Dogma”.

Even if it's just a wording in Capcom's annual report, the mention suggests that more “Dragon's Dogma” games can be expected and fans won't have to wait twelve years again.

A sales figure for “Dragon's Dogma 2” was only recently given. We reported:

The reasons for the twelve-year wait are obvious. “Dragon's Dogma” was originally released in 2012, but fell short of Capcom's expectations and failed to establish itself as a fantasy RPG blockbuster. With price cuts and the “Dark Arisen” expansion, the situation changed over the years.

However, for Capcom's top 10 best-selling games, “Dragon's Dogma 2” needs to attract significantly more players. At the moment it is dominated by “Resdent Evil” and “Monster Hunter”.

  1. Monster Hunter: World – 19.6 million
  2. Monster Hunter Rise – 14.2 million
  3. Resident Evil 2 – 13.6 million
  4. Resident Evil 7 – 13 million
  5. Monster Hunter World: Iceborne – 11.6 million
  6. Resident Evil Village – 9.3 million
  7. Resident Evil 5 – 9 million
  8. Resident Evil 6 – 9 million
  9. Resident Evil 3 – 8.4 million
  10. Devil May Cry 5 – 7.8 million

And it continues with “Monster Hunter”: This is how Capcom is preparing for the launch of “Monster Hunter Wilds”. The monster hunt took place in December announced with a trailerbut haven't gotten an appointment yet.
