Update:

This morning it was still a teaser website and now it's official. Microsoft and Activision have just officially announced Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. The name Black Ops Gulf War is now off the table, even if the game is set to take place exactly in the era according to the first leaks.

It was also confirmed that the new spin-off will be presented as part of the Xbox Games Showcase on June 9th at 7 p.m. It will probably not just be a trailer, because after the showcase, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be given its own Direct.

There are no further details yet, but at least there is a first teaser, which can also be seen on station 1 of the TV on the teaser website from this morning:

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 – First teaser for the upcoming shooter

The shooter series will continue this year with Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. Here comes the first teaser (which requires interpretation).

Original message:

If the rumor mill is to be believed, Microsoft and Activision will also present the new Call of Duty at the Xbox Games Showcase on June 9th. That makes sense, since Activision has been part of Microsoft for quite some time and the showcase is probably the most important event of the year for PC and Xbox.

A first teaser website has apparently been launched in advance to boost the hype. On the “Open your eyes. The truth lies.” There is already a lot to see on the named website.

There you will find a representation of an old television that currently has six channels, and there is something to see on three of them. On channel 1 you will see a kind of bodycam video in which a group of masked activists stomp through a forest, climb Mount Rushmore and cover the faces of the presidents.

Channel 2 shows another group of activists apparently sticking a series of posters with the slogan “The truth lies” on houses in a city. And Channel 6 shows you a news program in which it is reported that world-famous monuments and landmarks are being defaced with this very slogan. Conveniently, you can also download said videos by clicking the “REC” button.

Also visible is the logo of a three-headed dog, which fits the rumored code name “Cerberus” for the upcoming Call of Duty and represents a pretty clear connection between the website and the upcoming game, which is currently said to be Call of Duty: Black Ops Gulf War from Treyarch, which is supposedly due to be released in October. Well, we'll know more in a few days and maybe the TV on the website will show us something on the remaining channels soon.

For the time being, you'll have to make do with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, whose Season 4 starts on May 29th and features, among other things, two new maps.
