Puzzles and more puzzles…

Breakout Birdie Puzzle has no story to highlight, so we go straight to its gameplay. As the name suggests it is a puzzle game where you will have several colored cubes scattered all over the screen. The goal will be to bring together the cubes being of the same color so that they are next to each other. You will only be able to move the blocks from one square to another, but you will have additional game mechanics which will be added as the “adventure” progresses. The puzzles will be much more difficult with the addition of mechanics like blocks that cannot move, swapping places between two distant blocks and there are 3 other mechanics that will appear, it's up to you to discover them

There are several game modes, Endless, Timed, Challenge and Campaign. Endless is a game mode where you will continue playing indefinitely until you lose. Timed is a time trial where you will have to solve as many puzzles as possible in a limited time with no restrictions. Challenge mode features a challenging puzzle that must be solved within the time limit. The Campaign is just a series of levels, more or less difficult with the restriction of a limited number of movements. The fewer available moves you use, the more likely you are to get all 3 stars. The game is just a series of puzzles with a few mechanics added from time to time, but it remains repetitive as can be.

Breakout Birdie Puzzle 1 & 2 are almost identical in every level (menus, music are identical) the puzzles work the same way. There is only one difference: in Breakout Birdie Puzzle 2, there is a puzzle where you have to fill all the transparent block squares by making a path without going through the same square twice.

A great interface and music…

The graphics are ultra simple, there are few assets and you will have already seen everything in a few minutes. The animations are just fades to black and you will be able to count the number of existing animations on your hands. The music resembles everything and nothing, you will have the impression of having already heard this music somewhere. Sound design exists, it's the same problem as music.

You will get bored faster than your shadow

Technically the game is infinite with Endless mode, but it's ultra repetitive you will inevitably see two levels that are similar. For the campaign, it's 120 levels per Breakout Birdie Puzzle, so 240 levels in total.
