The second “Five Nights at Freddy’s” film is said to be much more ambitious than part one. This was announced by the actor playing Mike Schmidt.
In April this year confirmed Blumhouse the successor to “Five Nights at Freddy's”. A month later we found out that the cinema release planned for December 2025 is.
Actor Josh Hutcherson will reprise the role of Mike Schmidt. Now he spoke to the men's magazine Esquire about the second film. He made it clear that the ambitions are definitely higher than in part one.
It's much bigger, the stakes are higher…More animatronics are being used, different animatronics, and the world is opening up in a big way.”

But according to the actor, the film should not only be bigger, but also scarier. He also believes: “The fans will rave about it.”
At the moment it's about finding the right balance. On the one hand, the world should be expanded “in a really cool way,” but on the other hand, the characters should stay “down to earth.”
“That's something we all fought for in the first film, because this world that was created in Five Nights at Freddy's is so crazy. It's so over-the-top and crazy in a way that we had to find the emotional truth of the characters to make it work,” Hutcherson explains.
It's not official yet, but the plot is said to be based on the video game “Five Nights at Freddy's 2”. The animatronics Freddy, Bonnie, Chica and Foxy would be joined by Puppet and Balloon Boy Animatronics.
According to an indication, filming will start this month at the latest. They may even already be underway.
In addition to Josh Hutcherson, Matthew Lillard is also back. The 54-year-old will once again portray the antagonist William Afton. No other actors have been announced yet.
