For everyone who thought Bethesda would take a creative break after the release of Starfield, Todd Howard himself has now made two surprising announcements.

In a freshly published interview With colleagues from the YouTube channel Kinda Funny Games, the well-known developer not only revealed that the first major story expansion for the sci-fi epic has an approximate release date, but also that modding fans finally have reason to celebrate .

First DLC and Creation Kit on the way

The expansion begins Shattered Spacewhich according to Howard already planned for this fall and will be available free of charge for owners of the Deluxe Edition. Although only a few details have been leaked so far, there is already a lot of speculation about possible content.

Many fans suspect that Shattered Space could provide a deeper insight into the secrets of the mysterious House of Va'ruun – an alien race about which little is known. It is possible that you will visit the previously hidden home planet Va'ruun'kai and its capital Dazra in the fall.

For most enthusiastic Starfield players, the second announcement should be at least as exciting: The long-awaited Creation Kit for Mods is also on the way!

Even though the exact release date has not yet been determined, Howard confirms that the powerful tool has already been made available to selected modders. The Bethesda boss also promises that more information will follow “very soon”.

There are currently some helpful mods for Starfield, but really ambitious projects like Fallout: London for Fallout 4 or Enderal for Skyrim will only be possible with the help of the modding tools.

In addition to these two big news, there were a few appetizers for hungry fans: A smaller update with shipbuilding improvements will be announced in the next few days. Bethesda is also working on a large patch that will, among other things, bring detailed city maps into the game. Until then, your best bet is to use our interactive map linked above.
