Beeper combines Telegram, Facebook, WhatsApp and more in one tool

Do you remember Miranda IM from the old days? A chat client that brought many services together at the time. Beeper works the same way. This tool has been around since 2021. But it has only been possible to use the tool without a waiting list since April 2024.

So if you use different chat apps, you can bundle all of these messages under one roof. The further advantage is that there is also an Android app (also just out of beta) and an iOS app. The fact that everything was released at the beginning of April is probably also due to the fact that at the same time the message appeared that Automattic had taken over Beeper. Many people will be familiar with Automattic in connection with WordPress.

I looked at Beeper's Setup.exe. Beeper actually needs to be installed. But you can also unpack the setup.exe with 7zip or NanaZip. Everything is in the depths under $PLUGINSDIRapp-64. The data then ends up under Roaming -> Beeper. But that's just by the way.

You have to register with an email address, receive a code and then the security key. You definitely have to keep this. Otherwise you won't be able to get in anymore. Once all of this is done, you can connect to your accounts such as Telegram, WhatsApp, Signal and more and receive the latest messages, sorted if desired in the InBox.

Beeper itself is a fork of element-web. Beeper itself is free and later offers an optional subscription for additional functions. How long this will last is of course uncertain. Many parts of JetPack also used to be free and Automattic gradually turned it into a subscription option. But well, let's hope.
